Teen dies from accident on Interstate 30 on Monday night

The life of a Little Rock teenager ended Monday night just after 8 p.m. on a dark stretch of highway near exit 116 of Interstate 30 in Benton. Corey Waters, 16, was struck by multiple vehicles as he attempted to run across the Interstate, the reason for which is yet to be determined.
Waters was first struck by a LifeNet ambulance that was transporting a patient through Saline County. A tour bus traveling from Texas to Little Rock was behind the ambulance and was not able to avoid the accident.
Waters was pronounced dead at the scene.
Eyewitnesses on the bus spoke to The Saline Courier. They recounted seeing Waters lying on the road and not moving before he was hit by the bus.
"Someone asked me if I was OK. All I could tell them was that I didn't know. No one tells you how to handle something like this. I will never forget what I saw and what I heard." said one of the bus riders.
The front left headlight and body panel on the ambulance were damaged. The patient was transferred to another ambulance and transported to the intended destination.
Waters' family was on the scene at approximately 9 p.m.
Additional details of the accident will be reported as they become available.
