“I am very excited,” Childress said. “I am very appreciative of the voters that have the confidence in me to put me in this position.”

Childress received 505 votes, or 50.10 percent of ballots cast in the race beating out current board President Jackie Chenault Sasfai and former school resource officer Justin Dorsey.

Childress also said that he is looking forward to working together with the other board members.

“I am just one part of the team,” Childress said. “I am ready to get in there be helpful in whatever area the board needs me to be. I am excited to serve the people in the community and the kids in our school district.”

No other races in the election were contested.
