The Benton Lady Panthers made easy work of the Texarkana Lady Razorbacks this past Tuesday, picking up their third sweep to start the season. After sweeping Cabot and defending 6A state champion Conway, Benton downed Texarkana 25-7, 25-3 and 25-8 to open 5A South Conference play at Benton Arena.

The Benton Lady Panthers got off to an excellent start to the season Tuesday hosting the Cabot Panthers for the first match of the year at Benton Arena. The Lady Panthers jumped on Cabot in the first set and never looked back in a 3-0 (25-9, 25-13, 25-21) sweep.

Bauxite sophomore Kate Duncan recently earned All-State honors after setting a school record with 26 goals and adding four assists for the 9-7 overall, 4-4 in the 4A South Conference Lady Miners, their first winning season. 

Two Bauxite Lady Miners earned All-State honors and another was named to the All-State Tournament Team after a 19-10 season, 8-4 in the 7-4A Conference, and a 4A South Regional championship to earn a No. 1 seed in the 4A State Tournament in which they fell in the quarterfinals to Pottsville. 

Bryant senior shortstop Logan Chambers and senior right-handed starting pitcher Will McEntire both took home All-State honors, as well as being named to the All-State Tournament Team. Both will also play in the AAA All-Star game later this month.

The Bauxite Miners had eight All-Conference nods after going 12-15 this past season. Five Miners took home 7-4A All-Conference honors, while three others earned All-Conference Honorable Mention.
