HASKELL – The Harmony Grove Cardinals battled through a number of obstacles in 2023, finishing 10-12 overall on the season and 5-2 in 7-3A play.
With the close of the regular and postseasons, Harmony Grove is now enjoying the highlights with three earning All-Conference and one taking All-State honors.
Peyton Russell shined all season for the Cardinals, earning All State honors.
“He was our MVP on the season,” said Head Coach Brandon Mynhier. “He played stellar third base, making incredible plays every time.”
Russell also shined after the season, driving in the go-ahead run during the Central Arkansas Senior All-Star game.
On the year, he hit .424.
Russell also earned All-Conference for his standout showings throughout the season.
Hunter Hawkins took All-Conference and was money for the Cardinals in centerfield, turning in highlight-reel material most games.
“He caught everything near him this year,” Mynhier said. “He hit .354 on the season, as well.”
Issac Patterson, who also reeled in AC, provided the pitching spark needed as the ace for the club in 2023.
“When we needed a win he was the guy we turned to,” Mynhier added. “He was a leader on the mound for our team.
“Our team will miss all three of these guys and the other seniors that graduated with them.”
